Entry Guidelines

Also known as the boring stuff. That being said however, it is important that you read and understand these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in your station being disqualified and/or subsequently banned from competing.

Station Requirements.

  1. You must be the station owner, or have permission from the station owner to enter your station. Listeners must not enter stations. Listeners can however nominate stations by clicking here
  2. Your station must be an internet radio station. Podcasts and audio blogs are not accepted at this time. Internet streams for Terrestrial radio are NOT PERMITTED.
  3. The station must "stream" audio in a live fashion. I.e. Any live/pre-recorded content must be streamed through a server such as Shoutcast, Icecast, Windows Media Server etc. Linking your player directly to an mp3 is not allowed
  4. Each station must have a website which is accessible from the world wide web. Linking directly to a shoutcast server is prohibited.
  5. Your station must not air content of a hateful nature. This includes such things as Hate Crime, Slander etc.

Competition Guidelines.

  1. The judges decisions are final, unless there are extreme circumstances which render a station disqualified/banned
  2. You must not partake in, nor encourage your listeners to partake in sabotage, slander, or un-sportsmanlike conduct towards another competing station. This will result in a permanent ban for the station and it's owners/employees.
  3. Your station must compete in the awards during the voting term unless
    1. You have opted out for this term.
    2. Your station has been disqualified.
    3. Your station has shut down - In which case you should notify us immediately
  4. Voting banners must be linked from our server. Custom banners may only be used if uploaded to our servers and linked to.
  5. Using the direct link to the vote page is not permitted and will result in disqualification. All votes must be cast through banners.
  6. When the station rankings are complete, the top 20 stations are required to display their ranking badge upon their site. This must be linked from our server.
  7. Spamming of your voting banners is not permitted. Displaying banners on your own MySpace/Facebook is allowed, however unsolicited posting of banners on user profiles, forums, blogs is not permitted
  8. Any prizes won by a station must be claimed within 1 calendar month. Failure to claim your prizes will result in them being re-entered into next years prize pot.
  9. Audio promotions for the Internet Radio Awards must be played at least once every hour during live content. During automation this is reduced to once every 2 hours.
  10. Any significant change to your station circumstances must be made known to us immediately using your station control panel. This includes but is not limited to:
    1. Extended technical difficulties expected to last more than 24 hours
    2. Your station shutting down
    3. Station re-branding
    4. Website re-design
    5. Changes of station ownership
